I just recieved my new laptop: a Dell XPS M1530 pre-installed with Ubuntu. I plan on doing 7 posts related to the M1530. I will not, however, be doing them all in a row, so don’t worry. Anyway, today I have some unboxing pictures for you.
First, though, here are some of the important specs:
- XPS M1530 15″ Laptop with Ubuntu
- 4GB RAM
- 2.16Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo Processor
- 256MB NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT
- 320GB 5400 RPM HD
- 1920×1200 Resolution (After using this for a little, I thought my other display was set at some super low resoltuion. This display rules!)
Now, on to the pictures:

I got this about a month ago:
* XPS M1330 13.3? Laptop with Ubuntu
* 2GB RAM
* 2.10Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo T8100 Processor
* Integrated Intel® Graphic Media Accelerator X3100
* 160GB 5400 RPM HD
* 1280×800 Resolution
* 9-Cell Battery
So far i’m extremely pleased with this system. It’s fast, everything works and I get about 4-4.5 hours battery life.

That’s a pretty good setup (should tank etqw on highest settings. Not sure about textures though, mine has 512ram). How much did it cost you?

I love the picture of your cat! More, please.
(The laptop is nice, too.)

Haha, Windows key, when will they learn, but I guess making a separate stack of keys/keyboards for those that are being shipped with a different OS is too much trouble for them.

Actually they can’t take away the windows key as it’s assigned for the Expo plugin that comes enabled by default in compiz in ubuntu.

Anonymous – You got it with Ubuntu, I assume? Then you installed kubuntu-desktop? Is that correct?
