		<description>I believe that synchronizing the upstream apps/tools/etc. is more important to Mark Shuttleworth than synchronizing distribution releases. In other words, it would be okay with him if the distributions released on different days as long as they released with the same versions of the software that they included.

This would still be basically a time based release schedule, though, as you stated.</description>
