Open-Source Is So Much More Than Code

When we think and talk about open-source, we usually mean open-source software: code. While code is still probably the biggest piece of the open pie, open-source now means so much more than just code.

For example, a recent Tectonic post listed some of the best open-source books. From development guides to newbie tutorials, open-source books seem to be just one of the emerging fields for open-source, though perhaps a better word would be appropriate.

It’s not just books, either. We have open-source news, ideas, and music. Open-source doesn’t just mean code.
