Brilliant Brainstorms is a weekly summary of some of the best/most interesting brainstorms from the Ubuntu Brainstorm site.

From everything I have seen, Ubuntu Netbook Remix is one of the best netbook operating systems out there, and works a lot better than most of the things we see on most current netbooks. Because of this, it seems like promoting Ubuntu on netbooks would be a win for everyone.
Finding files can be hard, so, just as Apple has done, including an easy way to preview files would be great. Perhaps Ubuntu could even go a little further and build in some simple editing.

IRC support is great, but few new users are likely to use it. As far as I know, there is not even an IRC client installed by default. If there was an easy way for users to get help from IRC with the press of a button, lots more users would use it.

During bootup and shutdown there are a number of flashes to text. Although this should not be a big deal, it could potentially scare new users away from Ubuntu. As Fedora has done, Ubuntu should focus on creating a seamless bootup and shutdown process.

As each new Windows version comes in, each so far has taken more and more resources. If that starts to happen to Linux, it will lose one of its key advantages: performances.
