Hello,
just to say something about the metal/plastic issue. I am completely sure, that 1530's come with magnesium alloy chassis and alluminium metal inlay. It's most obvious when you plug the machine in the power socket - the aluminium gets a bit rough, by electromagnetic induction (I've experienced this on every 1530 we powered up in our shop).
If you are sure it's not a metal, someone terribly lied to you, and I'd demand a refund.
(Note, I am not working for Dell, just for a company which happens to sell Dells)
