Why put something on that is not needed? Let us not start scaring ppl to install stuff that they do not need and will only slow down their system. Anyway, Open Office is awesome, using it all the time – no probs so far.

Yes, ClamAV is able to scan for viruses on GNU/Linux in the same way that satellites can scan for Savannah lions in the middle of Antarctica.

To me productivity is something like writing software, so productivity software is compilers and scripting languages.
So, I always see that Windows comes with no productivity software preinstalled.

Clamav will also search for both of the *nix viruses that are in the wild, and the few hundred that have been written in the last 30 years but attack patched vectors. It will also catch a bunch of trojans, keyloggers, and rootkits that aren’t self propagating.

Mostly scans for windows viruses, though
