the update notification isn’t really a big deal to deal with it’s good that there’s something to remind us that there are updates available for us to update Ubuntu whenever they come out.
Ubuntu was the best thing I’ve ever done for my computer i ran windows for a long time and went through a mess with vista so those who would like to dump on Linux try it understand how it works first and better familiarize with it Linux isn’t a bad thing .
I think Linux rocks……………..

Repository-style updates such as those found in Ubuntu have been used for years and years, and haven’t caused any problems. If its a concern for you, either stop updating, manually download/compile new versions, or make it automatic.
The rest of us don’t really mind.

I really like the icon change. Also, having the icon go grey when apt is running (letting you know you can’t run it again somewhere else until the first one is finished) is great.

Excellent idea to bring this icon to the reader’s attention. The icon does stand out and is difficult to overlook.
